Becky Shirley is a writer from Oceanside, California.
Her short story “Poppy” was the winner of the Sewanee Review’s annual short fiction contest in 2020 and published by the magazine the following year. Other stories of hers have appeared in Joyland, No Contact Mag, and The Metaworker.
In addition to her fiction, Becky has written book reviews and critical pieces for Sewanee Online and Columbia Journal.
Becky holds an MFA in Fiction Writing from Columbia University and a BA in Liberal Arts from Evergreen State College. She is currently working on her first novel.
